I make raw music that fuses genres like folk, rock, hiphop, r&b and jazz to make sounds most have never heard, but still feel familiar.

Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Life is my inspiration for music. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a natural inclination towards exploring sound and rhythm and harmony, and loving every moment of it. Some people who inspire me are my family, for example my cousin, 6x Grammy winning jazz singer Samara Joy. Some others are the bands Big Thief, and Fleetwood Mac, as well as artists like Mid-Air Thief, Quickly Quickly, and Tyler The Creator. The list goes on, I have an eclectic music taste.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would put me on the map as far as having a substantial audience goes. My audience has been very small for years now. Albeit there are some heavy hitters as far as musicians go in my audience, it’s still a small one that a performance at a show like this would impact tremendously.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000 I would pay my rent for a year, get a new computer, get a new drumset, and create a budget to fund a marketing strategy including ad-testing, paying contractors (in many cases my friends) to shoot and edit photos and videos, all in all using the money to further bolster my audience and propel my career forward. Not having to concern myself with rent will give me some freedom to produce quality music during that time to promote and share with the world. Thank you for the opportunity.
