Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Growing up, my dad always played music around the house. Bands like The Beatles, Badfinger and Joy Division on the stereo constantly took up the sonic space of my childhood home. As a musician himself, he introduced, and got me excited about music for the first time and I am forever grateful. Nowadays, I take influence from artists such as Steve Lacy, Mk.gee and the late Jeff Buckley. Ultimately, the biggest inspiration for me is the true love and passion for what I create and show to the world.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be such an amazing opportunity. As a relatively new artist, I am just starting my performing career, and I am so excited for what the future holds. In my opinion, performance is what it's truly all about. I love making art and the creative process is incredibly therapeutic for me. However, what gives me the most joy is sharing it with people. Being able to perform at a festival and share my music with all different types of people would be a dream.
What would you do with $50,000?
As an artist who produces their own music as well as records and performs it, I would use the $50,000 towards the improvement of my home studio. Throughout the entirety of my short career I have made my songs with quality instruments, but I have never had a proper recording setup, at times recording vocals and guitar while sitting on my bed. I have always known that if I had a recording setup I was comfortable with, my efficiency making music would reach a new level, while maintaining character.
