we are married musicians/filmmakers representing connection & vulnerability w/ music that makes you wanna dance and cry at the same time
Thank you for generously supporting Ned and Wendy the Band in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to empower Global Citizen in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Early on, as Jordan and I both began writing original songs as young as 10 years old, the inspiration was simply that it was fun, compelling, and came naturally. The parallel continued as we got older, and chronic pain, in Jordan’s case Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and in mine an intense panic disorder, became a source of inspiration - music was a refuge. Now, heading into our thirties as creative partners, our music is largely inspired by love, community, and a search for meaning in nature.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the festival would allow us to bring the full power and joy of our music to a large audience, an opportunity to play with a full band, and to show the world how music can bring people together. It would likely open doors to us to play more shows, produce more complex albums, and launch the feature-length movie that we are currently creating as a partner to our fourth studio album, as well as our brand new LLC Ragdoll Studio.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would invest it in our creative projects, as well as use it to supplement the cost of living. As a married couple with one member chronically ill/disabled, finding the means to pay for the bare necessities as well as the time and energy to keep creating is a constant struggle. $50,000 would help us launch our movie, as well as the LLC that we are starting, with hopes of producing music and film for other artists. This will hopefully lead to ongoing financial stability.
