Who or what is your musical inspiration?
The free flowing spirit of the 1960’s and the music that came out of the Counterculture movement were always a source of inspiration for me as a kid. While I clearly didn’t live through the 60’s (I’m 25), the music that got left behind like The Grateful Dead, Beatles, Doors, Stones, etc. would leave a lasting impact on me and my artistic development over the years.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I played over 110 shows last year, and am well on my way to blow that number out of the water. You’d think with all that playtime, it would eventually loose it’s luster, but I can assure you, every show I play is just as special as my first one, back when I was playing in my High School band. Playing Global Citizen Festival would be a culmination of all those years of live shows, coming together at one special show, and I’ll handle my end of the bargain, giving everyone my best
What would you do with $50,000?
I’d end up reinvesting it strategically into my career, as I am truly not in it for the money, and if you’re a real artist, that should always be the case. The money should always be a side effect and not a motivation. I wouldn’t be anywhere that I am now if I cared about making a pay check, this is music we’re talking about. That being said, $50k is a good sum of money and I’d be Grateful as heck to receive it, that would never be taken for granted, but I’d u
