Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I would say that Jewel played a major role. I remember listening to her non stop and finding her so interesting and an inspiring. I do have to credit my brother Greg for most of it though. I watched my brother growing up, playing guitar and singing in numerous bands. He is so very talented and it was so natural for him. I never really sang until i moved to Florida. I came to camp and it was there i found my voice through the encouragement of strangers,so it begins!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would start my career. It would allow me to continue to focus on what makes me happy which is music! It would get my name out there and open doors to new business opportunities. It would allow me to share my story of my past and how i got to where i am today, which in turn i would hope would help someone else out there who can relate. It would launce me into the music world. We need new music. Music that is relatable. Music that is MUSIC. I want to bring back the good in music!
What would you do with $50,000?
I am so very new to the music scene as far as a performer. I would love to be able to just travel and share my music with everyone. The money would be shared between me and my bandmates. I would be nothing without them. So with my share, i would pour it all into to making more music and sharing it with the world and hope that on some level i can reach someone, make a difference and just make people smile and enjoy life more! Money isn't the objective for me. Connection is key.
