Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My first thought was James Brown hands down. But then, I also considered Chuck Berry. Heck, I even thought of saying Michael Jackson. I've learned a lot from watching the greats over the years, and am still learning to this day. But the truth of the matter is, none of them are My Dad. It was He who taught me what it means to play with Love. Free, without expectations or assumptions — a love you could feel through the groove and share with a tune.. That is my inspiration.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Every Show and every festival is a chance to learn from the one before it. Sometimes I question if I am on the right path and often I wonder how I can serve people with just music. But this festival reminds me that music is more than just a concert, it's an anthem — a symbol for those who feel called to do something different, to make a difference. Music is all I am, and performing is what inspires me to serve others with joy, because sometimes all the impact we need is a little hope.
What would you do with $50,000?
A small percentage will be used to ensure high quality production of top songs from our Artist catalog. However, the majority of the amount will go towards a marketing and advertising campaign. Most think of advertising as billboards or paid Facebook ads, but the aim is simply to get as much eyes on our 'product' as possible. As artists we aren't only competing with other artists for attention, we're also competing with the World — and THAT takes funds and Fun to make something truly great
