Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My great-grandmother Alice was my first musical inspiration. She taught me to sing at 4 and encouraged me to join choirs. She passed from cancer but lived to see me perform. My second mentor, Robert D’Alessandro, was my engineer and creative partner for nearly 15 years. He believed in me deeply. He passed from a heart attack on 3/31/25—my great-grandmother’s birthday. Their love and belief still guide me.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of performing in front of a massive crowd. I’ve been blessed to open for major artists and perform on great stages, but I’ve never experienced the energy of 60,000+ people united by music. Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be more than an honor,it would be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. It would also be an incredible opportunity to reach new listeners and share my message on a global stage.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would reinvest in myself,using the funds for marketing, new music projects, and building my brand. I’d also help provide a better life for my family. I help raise my 2-year-old nephew, who was born premature, with my sister. I’d use some of the money to get a reliable car, a new home, pay off debt, and create stability while continuing to grow as an artist.
