Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Our musical inspiration comes from the endless possibilities that emerge when blending tones and frequencies. There’s something deeply moving about how rhythm, instinct, and curiosity can collide with lyrical intelligence to create something powerful and unique. Artists like Geddy Lee of Rush and Michael Jackson have mastered this fusion, and their work inspires us to explore sound with both emotion and intention.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park would be a major milestone for Offshore Drift, the band was founded in Bird Rock, La Jolla. It would not only expand our reach to a global audience of music lovers but also fuel our passion to connect through sound. Sharing our West Coast-inspired blend of rock, pop, and reggae on such a world stage would be both humbling and empowering. Our mission has always been to deliver uplifting, crowd-embracing music—this opportunity would.
What would you do with $50,000?
While winning the $50,000 prize would be an incredible honor, the true reward lies in the opportunity to perform at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. That said, any prize money we received would go toward supporting student musicians in our local public schools who lack access to orchestral instruments. We believe this is where the seed of music is planted and nourished—and we’re committed to helping the next generation find their voice through music.
