Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from life itself—its wounds and its wonders. Every song I write is born from real emotions: heartbreak, longing, survival, strength. I’ve faced moments of deep loneliness and silence, and in those moments, music was my only refuge. It became my voice when I had none, my companion when I felt invisible, and my light when everything felt dark. Growing up, I learned to depend on myself. I didn’t have the comforts that many people take for granted.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As an independent artist of Mexican roots living in Canada, my journey has been shaped by resilience, migration, and the desire to be a bridge between cultures. My music is a reflection of two worlds—one filled with the sounds and traditions of my homeland, and another that has taught me how to evolve, adapt, and dream bigger.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I would produce my third album, blending traditional Mexican genres with modern sounds to reflect my identity and reach a wider audience. I’d invest in professional videos to tell my stories and tour diverse communities, including immigrant ones. Additionally, I’d support emerging Latina artists in Calgary, building a network of collaboration and growth. This support would boost my career and strengthen my artistic community.
