Who or what is your musical inspiration?
From Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday to Avril Lavigne and Lacey Sturm — bold, raw women who made noise with meaning — to bands like Periphery, Opeth, Architects, and Linkin Park, my inspiration comes from artists who scream and sing their truth. That’s where I live too — telling mine with intensity, melody, and zero fear.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Immensely. As an Indian woman in America making heavy music, this opportunity would be my boldest statement yet — one that bridges continents, cultures, and gender in a genre where voices like mine are still far too rare. Performing at Global Citizen would be more than a milestone; it would be a breakthrough. It would amplify not just my music, but my story — showing others that if they persevere, they belong too.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest it directly into my music career — producing my next album, marketing it, and getting it into the hands of listeners around the world. As an independent artist, every step forward is self-funded. I also still don’t own a car, which in LA is a real challenge. Being able to buy one would give me the freedom to get to shows, sessions, and seize every opportunity that comes my way.
