Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My biggest inspiration comes from Freddy Mercury. His charisma, the emotion he put into every performance. He was both powerful and sensitive, and that balance really marked me. Queen’s music made me feel like I could do anything, and that’s exactly the kind of feeling I want to pass on through my own work now. I also was inspired a lot by artists like Shirley Manson, Gwen Stefani, Alison Goldfrapp, Dave Gahan.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Any opportunity to perform in front of a crowd, whether for dozens or thousands, is a gift. As music creators, we live for the chance to be heard and to bring people together through our world. That’s what it’s all about: sharing and feeling, together. That’s it.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would keep on investing in my music, my brand. I would travel to meet people, professionals, audiences. I would produce my first album too.
