Who or what is your musical inspiration?
The human condition is an experience that hasn't been unpacked, because it cannot be objectively understood. Experiences that integrate the heart and mind simultaneously have their own gravitational pull - and these remain the moments that fuel my musical expressions. I grew up listening to an endless list of musicians from varying styles of music - inspired by the efforts and involvement of my mother and father.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Having the opportunity to show a massive population who truly appreciate the creation and expression of original music - what I have in me - would absolutely change my life. Yes, I get booked here and there, session guys want to be on my album and get guest spots - but I'm not playing for people who want anything beyond cover music, or simply background noise. The time I have here has the same limitations as anyone else, so why would I use it up telling someone else's story?
What would you do with $50,000?
I would ensure that my sons' schooling is handled, and I would secure the production of a full length studio album.
