Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspirations range from classic rock to metal to EDM. My heroes are deadmau5, Hans Zimmer, Armin Van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Linkin Park, Deftones, Pink Floyd, Artbat. My father saved his family from genocide as a child and nearly died for it. He taught me everything I know about music and is my biggest inspiration. I infuse my music with the pain of my life interlaced with the beauty of human connection and love. Above all, authentic is critical for me. I make what I love in its rawest form.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This would be my first festival performance. It would be a game-changing moment for me. My trajectory has already been incredibly fast as it is and I'm blessed for that, but this would be a huge leap forward. I want to bring my larger-than-life euphoric sound to the big stage and help inspire others. My goal is to inspire young artists to chase their dream and become who they were meant to be. This opportunity would help me connect more with the masses which is what makes it all worthwhile.
What would you do with $50,000?
I will use this money to upgrade my live show with visuals to get closer to the full A/V experience I want to create. I will use it to help market my music and put in the hands of more listeners. And there are a few pieces of studio gear that I would love to upgrade. After that, I want to donate a significant portion of the winnings to other artists in my community who are less fortunate than I am. There is a world of Mozarts out there who can't afford a piano. If I can help change that I will.
