Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Our inspirations vary but we’re all very drawn to alternative, rock, and pop music. Bands from the early 2000s like Fall Out Boy and The Used, to new bands like Sleep Token are huge influences for us. We love the varied soundscapes of today’s industry and want to stay rooted in real instruments while being somewhat “genreless”. Giving our listeners the chance to make the music their own while allowing us to creatively spread our wings.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would be the single most important show of our lives! We’ve been playing in the local scene this year establishing our presence and cutting our teeth. One thing is for certain about a Portal 27 show, we bring the energy. We play every show as if it’s an arena, we want to bring this emotion, this drive, this passion to the biggest stage of our career.
What would you do with $50,000?
Invest it all back into the band. Our vision has never been about us as individuals, we’ve always been here in service of the music. The most important thing to us is creating beautiful, dynamic, and meaningful art to connect to our audience. To be a sonic shoulder to lean on. We want the music to be your new obsession. So there is no other way to spend it other than the music!
