Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from having a family of singers dating back to my ancestors in the south known as the Rogers family. Watching my aunts and uncles sing in churches and performing inspired me to carry on the legacy that was instilled in use from my grandparents. The story began with my family sitting around camp fires in the south singing and dancing as the only entertainment of that time dating back to the early 1900’s. Those stories still echoing today to the next generatio
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival is more than just a dream but my purpose and vision to continue the legacy of my ancestors and the next generation to live beyond what you see and never giving up despite of your circumstances. Being the only person in my family to graduate high school and 1st generation college student has already broke the ceiling of poverty. Being able to perform will help share my dream and passion with world to keep going higher!
What would you do with $50,000?
I would immediately use the $50,000 towards opening a community music and creative arts center for artist who can’t afford it. This space would be an opportunity for them to live out their dreams and passion to create new legacies within their family and generations to come. The gift my grandparents shared with me I can pass on to another to be inspired as I was, and pay it forward.
