Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Coming from Toronto, more specifically Scarborough, the East End borough of the city, a lot of my musical inspiration is drawn from the big artists to come out of the city, like Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Tory Lanez and more. Aside from those artists, I like to draw inspiration from my own personal experiences. The ups and downs of being a struggling artist, my own perspective on love, and my different cultures. I like to be inspired anything and everything that makes me feel certain emotions.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would give me a platform to share the craft I’ve been working so hard on for 10+ years. My goal is to share my music to the world. The money, the fame and all the other stuff is secondary to me. I want my art to be heard and appreciated globally, and performing at the Global Citizen Festival would definitely give me the opportunity to do so.
What would you do with $50,000?
When I win the $50,000, my first priority is to help my mom. Raising 3 boys as a single mother, my number one goal in life is to help her retire and live out a beautiful life. Secondly, I would reinvest some of the money into my business and career. I own an independent record label in Toronto alongside my manager and producer. With this money, we’d be able to find bigger projects and elevate my artistry to the next level.
