Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I grew up on ’90s hip hop—Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Lady of Rage—with influences from both the South and the East Coast. My uncles knew Rakim, so I learned early. Artists like Whitney and Luther taught me presence and emotional truth. Today, I’m inspired by ballroom commentators like Kevin Jay Z and Precious—their raw energy fuels my work. My voice is bold, intentional, and rooted in authenticity. I create moments that move people, beyond just sound.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would be major—for my career and the Black Southern girls I represent. My work centers joy, resistance, and realness. Bringing that to a global stage aligns with my mission through music and CareFreeBlackGirl. It’s about more than exposure—it’s about showing that our stories matter. If my presence opens doors for others like me, that’s legacy.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I’d invest in creating music that makes people feel good, explore, and dream. I’d use it to record a high-quality project that inspires joy and connection. I’d also organize a low-cost tour so I can bring that experience directly to my fans — especially in places that don’t always get live shows. It’s all about making art that’s accessible, uplifting, and rooted in community.
