Who or what is your musical inspiration?
SHREVEPORT! I embrace and hold the title as a local artist to the highest standard. I owe my art to my home, because it’s my home that has given me these experiences, this perspective, this sense of self, this communal experience of the arts. And just like Miss Nina Simone, I believe it is my duty to reflect these times and the stories of these people.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Tens of thousands of people, New York, Central Park. Pretty sure we’d make the transition from a small town band to a nationally/internationally touring act. On a personal level: I just want to feel what it’s like to resonate with that many people simultaneously.
What would you do with $50,000?
Invest in Pizza Party Studios, our local band house/studio. It’s a hub for bands in our community, so the scene as a whole would benefit. Also, finance or leverage our own full length debut record. And purchase a USED van of course!
