Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Lyrically, I take inspiration from 60s folk revival/ Woodstock era songwriters like Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (together and individually), the Beatles, Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn, & John Prine, plus Celtic songwriters like Loreena McKennitt and bands who have written progressive rock epics like Rush, Genesis & Crown Lands. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would open up infinite possibilities, helping me establish greater audience and industry connections to initiate a much broader-reaching music career. As someone who is deeply musical and finds a pure life purpose in creating and sharing socially relevant, spiritually meaningful, and sonically adventurous music with the world, an opportunity like this is obviously very important in countless ways.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would record all of my existing original repertoire professionally, which includes over 50 individual songs plus a 3-part thematic album telling the story of a modern folk musician learning the ancient ways of the bard to help prevent human civilization from being captured into an alien controlled Matrix-like AI simulation, which most ideally would also involve hiring animators.
