Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Our musical inspirations are Lucky Dube, who stood up against Apartheid, as well as Bob Marley attempting to unite Jamaica. Our sound is unique in that being from New Mexico we also have a Latin influence with extremely talented musicians who provide a live show in English and Spanish that can blow people's minds. The name Revíva means to Revive ourselves and our community.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The band has traveled extensively both nationally and internationally, receiving a Fulbright Scholarship to work with young musicians in Central America. The Festival provides an opportunity for us to show how talented we are. Our last album was recorded locally with Errol Brown, who was Bob Marley's longtime producer. We strongly feel that we are the next face of Reggae/Rock and can be a voice for the voiceless once we're on the international/national radar.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would donate most of the funds to organizations that serve the most underserved and our mission of bringing unity to all living beings. The band also has the talent and determination to work with other creators to make a very special album but lacks the funds as musicians in New Mexico are severely underpaid.
