Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My older brother played in a grunge rock band in the 90's, but he also listened to rap. My main influences growing up were Nirvana, RHCP, Dr. Dre, and Michael Jackson. I also draw a lot of my inspiration from movies and films. Being able to have access to my older brother's CD collection and VHS tapes has made me the musician I am.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I had some mild success with a folk band in my early 20's. Our debut EP made the iTunes Charts and we toured and had fun. I since moved on and took my solo music in a completely different direction than a folk sound. Playing at a festival like this would solidify my hard work on learning to make music using software and it would give me a chance to do what I've always wanted to do; move people with music.
What would you do with $50,000?
With 50,000 dollars I would invest it into recording my first solo album in a studio with the right team behind me and then use whatever I have left to market it.
