Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Ron grew up a dedicated record collector. Playing since 6, eventually playing multiple instruments since 12. His music collection is over 11,000 albums from all walks of life, earth and sound. At 12 years old, opening up the gate-fold to Todd Rundgren's "Something, Anything" he saw Todd in his makeshift apt turned studio. He then realized he had to learn "ALL" instruments so there won't be limitations in creation/expression in his imagination. First record deal 19 years old.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the festival would help RIVER to spread the message that we, all human beings, are "ONE" family. We must stop fighting and harming amongst ourselves because of difference and pay attention to our likeness to each other. This is the original intent of all spiritual scriptures regardless of the "religion". This message has somehow been lost over the centuries. Why not use the power and influence of music to actually spread "Good" ? Time for change.
What would you do with $50,000?
There are 5 of us. We would divide it into 6. Because the earth, a living being, deserves an equal share. The best way to give back to the earth is to donate this 6th to saving the precious trees that give us the most important life need. "The Oxygen". For the band personally ? We would finally get our own 24/7 rehearsal room in the Music Building in Midtown, Manhattan. What's left goes to the members. RIVER is equal split. Even in copyrighting.
