Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am heavily influenced by artists who are not afraid of transparency: Those whose lyrics tell the true story of where they have been, where they are now and where they are going. Hank Williams , Robert Johnson, Merle, Waylon, Al Jourgenson, Robert Smith- these are my heroes.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
The the energy from the exposure would be a great use in launching my ultimate goal, a 501(c)(3) that empowers musicians who are diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders to achieve success in sobriety and in life. I would make sure to use the performance as an opportunity to create awareness about stigma associated with those in this special population, and how we must be together on stage and off to end that ugly reality once and for all
What would you do with $50,000?
I would I would donate 100% of this money to my 501(c)(3), Unlabeled artist, as it would help many other artists like me who are in the diagnosed community to achieve success in recovery and in life.
