Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My music is inspired by my time in bonnie Scotland and New Zealand, the remarkable people I've met on my travels, and the experiences that fuel my desire for change. It’s shaped by the emotional rollercoaster of my life. Drawing from a diverse range of genres—from soul to grunge—I'm influenced by artists like Nina Simone, Nirvana, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Ben Howard, Tracy Chapman, Eva Cassidy, Hozier, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen would give voice to the messages in my music—challenging division and injustice, while encouraging a worldwide community. As a new artist, I believe music can spark change. This stage would help grow a movement around music that leaves listeners with a sense of connection, belonging, and empowerment. This opportunity would give my career momentum, visibility, and purpose — helping me grow not just as an artist, but as a voice for positive change.
What would you do with $50,000?
With $50,000, I’d record new music - I have enough songs in the works for at least two albums, tour across Canada and the U.S., and collaborate with fellow musicians—but just as importantly, I’d use this opportunity to build community. I’d run free songwriting workshops for low-income groups, support other emerging artists, and attend festivals and conferences to create spaces where we can learn, connect, and uplift each other through music.
