Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am a soulful storytelling comic. My inspiration is the image of Etta James *basement gritty NOT "At Last" homogenized* sitting with Lucille Ball having a girl's night with Janis Joplin and Gilda Radner. All my original music comes from first time, one take, improvisation. I channel something that allows me to use language and lyrical brilliance to share a message of hope, healing, and PLAY
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
May 2025 is one year in this new chapter. I completed my first year in the "I Heart My Voice" music program. This opportunity would break stereotypes & offer hope! I'd be proving to the world that You CAN Be Your Dream no matter age, past history, or self doubt. We get to LIVE & it feels right for music to: serve community, heal us, and grow us as humans as we relentlessly pursue a LIFE worth Living. What would you do with $50,000?
Invest in creating Music! Paying musicians, renting ACTUAL studio space, invest in my first tour, and, most importantly, it would allow me *for the first time in my 41 years* to be financially independent. I have recently divorced my husband of 11 years because my newfound sobriety no longer had space for his alcoholic addictions. I'm on my own for the first time after a "year long life grant" to do My Music I'd be able to take care of myself & fund my Life Dream of creating music
