Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Pain has been the biggest motivator when it comes to music creation for me. I'll name a few artists who have made a big impact on me. Missy Elliott has inspired me by changing the game for women in Hip-Hop. Missy's funky fresh style, eye-catching beats and visuals have greatly influenced me. 2Pac has inspired me because, like him, it all began with poetry. He wasn't just an amazing rapper and poet, he was an activist! Kid Cudi has inspired me to reveal inner truths and emotions through music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I'd absolutely crush it, as I fully embody who I am to my core whenever I touch a mic and hit the stage! Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would allow me to reach more people in a massive way. Not only would I be an artist performing, I'd be networking and connecting with fans- building the gap between being a public figure and being human. I'd take all the content and opportunities from my performance and continue to build from that momentum.
What would you do with $50,000?
The $50,000 would allow me to officially get plans in motion for my tour which will go beyond performing at different stages and venues. This will give me the money needed to expand on my Planet Sammie project which embodies Sammie B in totality. All of my multi-faceted creations will be able to shine in a way that is truly impactful. I will speak and perform to the youth to promote mental health and recovery from substance use disorder as that is a major part of my story.
