Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Im inspired by all the beautiful souls around me to make music. Music has the power to connect all of us through feeling, and as a sensitive person Im very attuned to navigating this feeling. Im inspired by great music that has come before me just as much as the mail mans signature knock on the door. Art breathes all around us and its our job to listen to it.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would give me the platform to connect as many people as possible through music. Experiencing the energy of that many people in one space is the opportunity of a lifetime, and effecting that many people intimately through music is my career. I feel a deep drive to pay omage to all the beautiful people and communities Ive had the privilege of experiencing.
What would you do with $50,000?
I will continue to work every single day on creating music that people can see themselves in. Music is the art of the people, and my biggest goal in life is to create for the people. So many of the places art needs to come from are being oppressed. With $50,000 I wouldn't spend it on new gear, I would use it to sustain all the creative people around me to continue to create. With $50,000 I would be able to give more people the opportunity to be afforded the luxury of pursuing the arts.
