Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My father from Brazil is a painter, who came to America with a suitcase and a banjo. He inspired me to paint what's in my soul with sound as my paint brush. My mother grew up in the 80s pop era. They introduced me to a plethora of the greats. I have had so many friends show me their favorite songs, and each one comes with a memory. Birdsong, car blinkers, the ocean; it's all music. It all inspires the music that I create.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would bring my music to a larger audience. It could open more doors to future shows and it would show me what I'm capable of. I would use the opportunity to make connections with people in the industry to further my career and hopefully theirs. I'm confident it would be another big step to the next stage. Every connection you make is valuable. I'd love to look at my family and friends in the front row and have them see where music can take you.
What would you do with $50,000?
That kind of money would change a lot for me. I would use the money to make quality recordings of the many songs I've written, and to promote them properly. I'd have a great campaign for the release of said music. There is so much I can do, and have done, with very little to no money. I would really seize the opportunity with that amount. It would be an investment in more opportunities. These songs can be hits with such a budget.
