Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Most of the songs I write are inspired by the people around me. I long to remind people they're not alone...in heartbreak, in joy, in uncertainty there's somebody else out there that feels just like they do in that moment. I've found that music is one of the best tools in bringing people together and removing the gap of loneliness, and I hope my music makes the same impact.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I really believe in the music I've been creating, but getting the music out there as an independent artist (and a grandma when it comes to social media) is a challenge! To have a captive audience at the Global Citizen Festival would be an answer to prayer and give my music a real chance to be heard by the right people.
What would you do with $50,000?
If I'm real with y'all, I'm gonna pay off my car first (lol!). Another piece would go towards marketing my latest record, Soft, out June 6. The last chunk I would put into savings to put a downpayment on a house.
