Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Steely Dan, Tupac Shakur, The Rolling Stones, Public Enemy, Prince, The Doobie Brothers. Music with a message and music that makes you feel good. I inspire to make my music to make people smile. I take pride, when I think about people who listen to my music or who like it, smile while listening to it.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would mean a lot to me to perform in front of so many people with such a good intent to save the world, and to make the world better for every living human being That’s on the planet. That is my demographic. My demographic is not mainstream radio or mainstream music. It is the people who inspire change that my music is designed for and created for.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would first say thank you very much for giving it to me. And then I would get a new gravestone marker for my mother who passed January 31, 2017, and a bench in her honor in downtown Sacramento where she worked for 30 years. And I would save the rest, and take my daughter out on a vacation to Santa Barbara, CA for few days.
