Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspirations are Whitney Houston, Sweet Emily, and Ronnie Butler. Whitney taught me the power of vocal control and emotion, Sweet Emily inspired my love for Bahamian soul, and Ronnie Butler grounded me in cultural storytelling. They’ve each shaped the artist I am today.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen Festival would be a major milestone in my career. It’s not just about the stage it’s about the message. As a Bahamian artist, I carry my culture with me in every performance, and being part of a global movement like this would give me the platform to share our music, our struggles, and our spirit with the world. It would open doors for international collaborations, greater exposure, and show young Bahamian creatives that we belong on global stages too.
What would you do with $50,000?
If I were to win, I would invest the $50,000 directly into my music. I’ve been building my foundation for years, and this funding would finally allow me to record my first full-length album. I’d use the money to produce high-quality tracks, shoot visuals, and market and promote the project internationally. My goal is to take Bahamian music to the world stage—and this would be the boost I need to do just that.
