Who or what is your musical inspiration?
The most impactful has been, The gospel groups - The Clark Sisters, The Hawkins Family, Commissioned, The Winans. Rnb, pop & soul artist Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, & Marvin Gaye.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would fulfill a vision for myself, being in position to share my music talent in a way that conveys a message of love for all. A way to express it that is most authentic to my upbringing, my culture experience, and yet relative enough for all to gravitate towards. It would help further opportunities for my two bands. My solo band SIR SMITH & The Soul Band, & my collaborative band, The SSML Band.
What would you do with $50,000?
I’m currently a beginner entrepreneur, that has put in place some start up companies to manage business administration & music entertainment services. I would invest it into this set of companies that I have. I may also take some of the funds, to further my formal education in music & fine arts.
