Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I grew up in NYC. A myriad of cultures. A Kaleidoscope of musical styles. I listened to everything from the Crosby Stills Nash & Young to Sly and the Family Stone. I loved the harmonies and the emotions of folk music but loved the blues, funk and New Orleans grooves too, I was 16 yrs. old when I first heard Bonnie Raitt. Her style married all of these styles together. I had found my musical role model!
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
If picked as a winner, I would filled with gratitude. That alone will impact my career:)! I believe in my music. But performing at the Festival would be the kind of exposure that is crucial in this business. By making new connections with people in the industry will open doors for me as a performer and songwriter.
What would you do with $50,000?
Invest it in my music career. I would record a new album. Invest in marketing. Build a tour.
