Who or what is your musical inspiration?
While ska is our foundation, our sound is a dynamic fusion of genres—ranging from punk and reggae to cumbia and rock. Comprising four passionate musicians on bass/vocals, guitar, keyboards, and drums, SKAtharines delivers raw, powerful rhythms designed to ignite the crowd.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
As a ska group, we blend high-energy rhythms with socially conscious lyrics, and this platform aligns perfectly with our mission. The festival’s global reach would give us the opportunity to share our message with a diverse, international audience, helping us grow our fanbase beyond local and regional scenes. This performance could open doors to touring, collaborations, and even label interest — all while staying true to our sound and values. Touring is key for ska — it’s a live experience — so we’d put money toward a regional or even international tour, prioritizing cities where ska and conscious music have strong communities.
