Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am inspired by the likes of Fela Kuti, Micheal Jackson, Elton John, Sade Adu, Whitney Houston, ABBA, Boney M. and my self. Growing up in Nigeria and then America, I performed for cultural dances and also did show choir. As a child I allowed myself to be fearless, authentic and nurturing Diversely. I always felt like they were with me no matter where I was, especially on stage. Now, I would love to create magic with Ms. Sade and sing on stage with Elton John. That has been my true dream.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I am a global trailblazer just by my existence. As an African that moved to America at age 11, and now is 22 years old, I learnt the importance of fusion. Performing at Global Citizen Festival would bring worlds together, I have a distinct sound and a unique anointing that spreads when you listen to my voice. Yes, it would impact my career by expanding my reach from the east west north and south, but most especially for me, it will anoint and unify the people under one message. Love.
What would you do with $50,000?
Travel to Nigeria, set up camp to finish my EP (mixing and mastering), shoot music videos, go on a radio run in Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya, India, Europe (places of my highest playback), run one or two online and offline Marketing campaign, start a merch line of holistic products from vendors that care, and give back to my mom and dads villages.
