Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We carry the spirit of Chris Hobler, one of the original founding members of Sonic Joyride, a brilliant songwriter, musician, and performer, lost too soon to ALS, whose courage and artistry continue to move us. His legacy reminds us that music isn’t just sound—it’s soul. We play for those who can’t anymore, and we create for those who need to feel heard.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a breakthrough for Sonic Joyride. It would amplify our mission to connect, uplift, and inspire through music. This stage would expand our reach, grow our platform, and shine a light on Music Speaks, our mobile concert project bringing live music to underserved communities. It’s more than a performance—it’s a chance to use our voice for global impact.
What would you do with $50,000?
We’d use $50,000 to expand Music Speaks, our mobile concert project inspired by the legacy of Chris Hobler, a gifted musician lost to ALS. The funds would help us finish converting our 40-ft bus into a traveling stage, support sound gear, and bring live music and songwriting showcases to underserved communities. It’s all about carrying forward the power of music to heal, connect, and uplift—just like Chris did
