Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration comes from many musicians, but specifically, Fiona Apple and Courtney Love. Fiona’s lyricism inspired me to look inward, and create music that was true to my experiences. Courtney Love’s raw emotion inspired me to create songs that exceeded my peers perception of me. I write music that connects, music that truly conveys my every feeling, raw angry and sorrowful music. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I picked up the guitar in first grade, writing my first song not long after. At the ripe age of six I knew music was my dream. My father an immigrant, moved to the US to give me the exact life he had dreamed for, a life of endless possibilities. Playing The Global Citizen Festival would mean mine and my father’s dream came true. Over one hundred thousand hours of practice worth while. My music finally being more than just mine, but a medium for connection
What would you do with $50,000?
If I won the $50,000 I would allocate a large portion to helping the damages that the California Wild fires caused. I was born and raised in Los Angeles only recently moving to the East Coast. It was absolutely devastating seeing streets I once knew burned to the ground. Knowing old childhood memories would never resurface from the nostalgia of hiking Runyon Canyon or basking at Venice beach. My donation would bring back so many homes to Angeleno's but also rebuild the city of my memories.
