Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I am inspired by Joseph Campbell and Bob Dylan, as well as my own urge to come as close as possible to expressing the inexpressible, both lyrically and musically. I do this through poetic allegory and the use of mythological references to express the mystery, euphoria, and hardship of our shared humanity. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would make the public aware of my innovative take on the “devil at the crossroads” legend, and the 10 songs I use to tell the story. The most difficult part of being a songwriter/musician/producer is getting proper exposure for your music, which can lead to great music going undiscovered.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would use it to fund a tour and for promotion. As I mentioned above, getting proper exposure for the music is very difficult, and that is largely because promotion is extremely expensive.
