Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My inspiration used to only be pure competition. I wanted to be the greatest rapper my city even produced. Not the most commercial, not the most conforming, but the greatest skill wise. As you grow within the arts, this thing becomes therapy. Then you look around and see how many lives you're are impacting with your story because you’re telling theirs as well. Now you’ve become a beacon of hope. Hope for others who were afraid to chase their dreams at first.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
In St. Louis, emcees are put through the crucible. From battle rapping to brutal and honest underground show cases. So once you get it, every time you perform you will gain new fans. That has been true with me. Having this opportunity would not only help me levitate to the next level, but help me show the world the truth about St. Louis HipHop and what we bring to the table.
What would you do with $50,000?
Outside of music, I am deeply involved in my community work. I have even been honored by the White House because of it. I would invest a portion into marketing and creating my next project, but I would take the other portion and invest it into my music program that I have used to create gang treaties and peace throughout some of our neighborhoods.
