Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’m inspired by powerful women like Rebeca Lane, Juana Molina, Rubio, and Ibeyi, who explore themes of ancestry and feminine strength. Sonically, I’m inspired by Native American music, as well as Rodrigo Gallardo, Chancha Vía Circuito, Bomba Estéreo, and electronic music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I’m an emerging artist with a strong creative drive, and performing at the Global Citizen Festival would give me a reach I never imagined possible for my artistic career. I’ve played on buses and in parks to connect with audiences, and this opportunity would be a truly powerful step forward.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest the prize mainly in my music career and in my project Voces Fieras, which brings together women artists to create spaces for artistic development and the promotion of their work. I would also use the funds to connect with professionals in the music industry — and, of course, treat myself to a few well-deserved indulgence
