Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I'm strongly influenced by 1970's music. Funk, Soul, Blues and Rock n' Roll. But my way to say what I have to is Rock n' Roll. As a songwriter, the bands that showed me a direction are Rush, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and U2, etc. As a guitar player, I have a long list of heroes, from Chuck Berry, Link Wray to Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Bonamassa, and of course, Jimi Hendrix. In terms of live performance, Iron Maiden.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a great opportunity for a global citizen (I have more than one nationality and have lived in many countries) to show American audiences a music that essentially originated in this country. I can reintroduce Rock n' Roll to a large audience that may not be familiar with it and may not know that they need this kind of music. This festival is a magnifying glass that makes the world see a new artist, so a huge impact in my carrier.
What would you do with $50,000?
Even though I already have a degree in music and have been working in the field recording and touring for years, I was awarded a great scholarship to study at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, this is what leaded me to the US. I came here to try to find a shot. Even with the great scholarship award, I still have to climb endless mountains to support myself financially in LA. With $50,000 I would cover my expenses.
