Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I have several. For songwriting, Townes Van Zandt is the gold standard, but also artists like Skip James who’ve influenced my songwriting and Leo Kottke for fingerstyle playing. For composition and sound, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Horse Feathers and Gillian Welch.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I think the opportunity to play for such a huge audience would really make a dent as far as my image on the world stage but also I’d have recognition of being chosen for such a selective competition!
What would you do with $50,000?
Honestly use it to finish my album and tour. I’d bleed it all away playin shows and having memories that would last a life time.
