Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My earliest inspiration to pick up the guitar was Green Day’s American Idiot album. With this latest project, John Williams was a major influence with his various film scores. Dave Grohl, Biffy Clyro, Gustav Holst, and Glen Hansard are also major influences on my sound.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would mean everything. This project is so expansive and exciting that I feel like I need to give it to as many people as possible. No one has heard anything like it before and yet it feels universal. If we performed at GCF it would bring validity and a platform to start making the world a better place.
What would you do with $50,000?
First and foremost, I would pay the band. After that, the deal I made with the universe was that I would support men’s mental health, music education, and homeless/addiction services so a portion would go there. Afterwards? Treat myself to a spa day, pay off some debt, and then funnel the rest into whatever comes next for the band.
