Canadian, alt-rock, industry plants
Thank you for generously supporting The Ninety Seven in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to empower Global Citizen in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and create a world where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We take a lot of inspiration from late 90s and early 2000s bands like The Strokes, Foo Fighters, and Third Eye Blind. Also, we take big inspiration from our favourite Canadian bands: The Tragically Hip, Big Wreck, and The Arkells
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
We’ve been on an upwards trajectory since our formation 2 years ago. We lost our university’s battle of the bands, came back and won it the next year. Then, we recorded our first EP at UMG Canada soon after. We plan on releasing that soon so this festival would give us a platform to promote that.
What would you do with $50,000?
We would plan a great North American Tour. Nothing we would rather do more as brothers and bandmates. It would give us the freedom to go out share our music with all who want to hear it. It would be the dream.
