Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Our biggest musical inspiration is Sparks. They never allowed themselves to fall behind in the development of pop music. They played with glam, disco, swing, new wave, neo-classical, EDM, and rock, whatever invoked inspiration. Allowing yourself to shut out modern music as you age because it's easier and more comfortable is to die as an artist; you've contained the possibilities of what you could make.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would allow us to show the world our passion project, allowing us to connect with like-minded artists who agree that you can be unconventional at times, and formatted at others while still creating something new. We'd be able to start touring parts of the country we haven't reached, bringing us to new audiences. And if our audience grew, it would provide a platform to help promote other artists who inspire us and haven't had the chance to make it in front of their crowd yet.
What would you do with $50,000?
First money would go to rent while we quit our jobs to focus on music full-time. We'd pay for the time in a professional studio and hire someone to mix, and master so we can put out our first studio album. We'd put money towards our families to try and ensure a route to financial stability and secure housing and if there was extra, we'd put it toward necessities on the road for a nationwide tour, van rentals, food and motels.
