Who or what is your musical inspiration?
There are so many artists who have inspired me over the years. My biggest inspiration is that I promised my kids I'd take them to the Grammys when I win. Awhile back I was busking on 2nd Ave in Nashville TN. A man approached me and listened to a few songs. Then he handed me a $20 bill and said he was a member of the E Street Band. He said, "This is from Bruce. He said to tell you don't give up". I spent that $20 on rent, but it's still in my pocket. That incident was most inspiring of
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival will give me a chance to give back to the community and the people who have helped me along the way. So many people believe in me and this performance will totally justify their love and support. Performing there will globally establish me as a songwriter and help me secure future performances.
What would you do with $50,000?
$50,000 will buy a building in Detroit for my music publishing business, The Half-Fast Charlie Music Group, with studio equipment and computers for the Half- Fast Music Lab. I also have to buy help with grant writing. I'd like to start an after-school music program for kids in Detroit who are at risk.
