I have a lot in the vault. I make music of different genres continuously. I use it as therapy, and it aids me in healing accordingly.

Q&A

Who or what is your musical inspiration?

I lead my music with sheer emotion. Anytime I hear a beat, or chords on guitar, I wait for how the instrumental makes me feel to guide me in creating what I want. Sometimes it comes out as a freestyle, other times it takes writing it. My Mom always bumped rap music, she’s an 83’ baby, and I owe her for shaping my sound. She listened to a lot of Jay Z, and Biggie. Early 2000s r&b were the first sounds to touch my ears. My Dad rarely played music, but when he did it’d be Jay

How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?

It’d aid me in allowing people to be touched by my music. The music I submitted was based off sheer rage I felt from an encounter, and I feel I’m able to define my emotions through music. I know others have to have felt and gone through the things I have. I can’t put a word to how I feel ever, but music summarizes it. In that sense, I think people will be able to feel that sentiment, whether it be expressed in rap, folk, or indie.

What would you do with $50,000?

I’d put it toward better music equipment, but I wouldn’t over indulge. I just have a MacBook and blue yeti mic with some old headphones. I’d use some for a down payment on an apartment, not a house, and continue to make music as the time permits now that I’m graduating from college tomorrow.
