Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Verb8im's musical inspiration is the beauty of collaboration, and the unique ability for music to be ever-changing. The members of Verb8im come from vastly different backgrounds which challenges us to collaborate, and incorporate opinions and ideas that otherwise would’ve gone unheard. Our power to give back and continue a love for music in the people around us, further drives us to create the best music that we are capable of making.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would provide us a platform to be heard by many people and allow us to use our enthusiasm to foster an engaged fanbase that dually enjoys sharing in our music. Having spent 2 years building our fan base in Oregon, we’ve officially shifted our focus to the bigger picture, and how we can contribute to the music scene as a greater whole. Being able to continue to inspire other listeners or potential musicians would be very meaningful for us.
What would you do with $50,000?
As students at the University of Oregon, the money from this competition would help fund our journey to completing our studies and allow us to fulfil our tenure together as a band. Other splits of money will be re-invested in the band, helping us acquire new gear to help perform stronger shows to continue our musical journey of energy and creativity. We would be allowed to write new music and push ourselves to innovate new sounds that we can use to leave a legacy.
