Who will perform at the Global Citizen Festival, appear in Rolling Stone, and take home $50,000?
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My dad was the first person I saw play guitar and it changed my life. He’s been strumming for me ever since I was a newborn. He introduced me to Sabbath, U2, Johnny Cash, and everyone in between. I only ever got to see him every 6 months at a time because he was overseas in Afghanistan, and all of my best memories growing up were seeing him play these beautiful chords on the guitar. I always have and always will strive to make him proud through my music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would launch my music into the stratosphere from where it is now. At the moment, I am financing and promoting everything 100% by myself. I have yet to make a profit off of music partially due to lack of time because I’ve been in the Marine Corps for the past 4 years and 3 of those years I spent overseas and in the field. This would give me a chance to really get some eyes and ears on our band and give us an opportunity to really succeed.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would take $10k to pay off my credit card debt I’ve accrued recording, mixing, and promoting my music myself. I would also donate $20k to Veterans Mental Health Services. What’s left will go to making a full length album. Right now we all have is an EP that I financed myself that my brother and I recorded in less than 24 hours over Christmas break when I had a chance to see my family. At the end of the day I don’t care about money. I only wish to use it to improve the world.
