Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I’ve adored video game soundtracks since I was a kid - SEGA SOUND TEAM, Capcom’s work for the Devil May Cry games, etc. Also, listening to Nightwish has forced me to add strings to everything I do. Lately, it’s been a ton of Machine Girl. The way they are able to take distortion and mix it with high energy rhythms captivate me so much! My favorite bands to listen to however are My Chemical Romance, Maximum the Hormone, and X Japan.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It’s always been my dream to play festival stages, and playing at the Global Citizen Festival while pushing my own solo music would be monumental for me. I’m stepping out on my own for the first time, and I want to show everyone what I’m made of in the best place possible, and I think that place is the Global Citizen Fest. I want to inspire people to just go for it. That’s all that matters.
What would you do with $50,000?
Take care of my family, give back to all of those who have helped me through my roughest times. But most importantly, I’d use the money to make even crazier projects and take the ideas that I ruminate on and bring them to life. I want to make the coolest stuff possible. I’d also take my partner on vacation! She deserves it.
